Placing block and "using" an block

I've searched existing issues and couldn't find a duplicate.

What happened?

If you "use" a block like open a door or click an repeater and you are holding a block in your hand, you use the block you wanted to interact with, but you also place the block you are holding.

To Reproduce

Hold an block while click on a repeater

Expected behavior

Block shouldn't be placed if you are interacting.
