Ideally there'd be a minimum-controls mode for reading long threads, where you can infiniscroll through them.

This should also be screen-reader friendly to the point where you could use it as an audiobook.

The screen-reader comment makes me think of @AccaliaDeElementia's recent playing around with the Web Speech API. I guess something like that could be built in, or maybe that's too gratuitous or feature-creep-ish? Hah.

As a note, I'm not sure if many cases of conventional screen-reader software would be very compatible with any infiniscroll mechanism. To me, infiniscroll stuff seems like the sort of thing with a relatively high potential to screw up screen reader software. Granted, I don't have much experience with screen reader software.
