Is there any WIP to add the use point_cloud_transport and add the support to data_type: point_cloud_interfaces/msg/CompressedPointCloud2 ?
It can be very useful to overcome the DDS limitations as explained here

None yet have been started, but a PR would be welcome! I have a similar ticket open in Nav2 ros-navigation/navigation2#4042 for similar reasons :-) It has admittedly not been top of mind for me and something I was hoping to match the right community contributor to to work on since its a nice bite sized task
