Loading Media-Archive Links on slow connections leads to unrecoverable state

Reproduce:

• In Chrome click: File / New Incognito Window
• Open Dev Tools. In the Network Tab, set from 'No Throttling' to 'Fast 3G'
• Paste this Media-Archive URL and press Enter: https://rv.zhdk.ch/?video=https%3A%2F%2Fmedienarchiv.zhdk.ch%2Fapi%2Fmedia-entries%2F7dc79054-8ee2-4c08-8a2b-35985c067a50%2Fmedia-file%2Fdata-stream&annotations=https%3A%2F%2Fmedienarchiv.zhdk.ch%2Fapi%2Fmedia-entries%2F7dc79054-8ee2-4c08-8a2b-35985c067a50%2Fmeta-data%2Fresearch_video%3Arv_annotations%2Fdata-stream
• As soon as the project title "DAY 2_VIDEO 1_THESIS" appears on screen (and default.rv is being loaded in the Network Tab in DevTools) hit the reload button.
• In DevTools Set throttling back to 'No Throttling'
• The Media-Archive Project is loaded and works.
• Hit the reload button.
• The console shows this error

core.js:4197 ERROR TypeError: Failed to construct 'URL': Invalid URL
    at project (project.ts:109)

Neither reloading the page nor 'Reset to sample project' can recover from the error.
