The BACKSLASH and PIPE key is not sent thru

The backslash key (and pipe, shifted) is not showing up on the Amiga (A2000). I changed the value of DEBUG to see some output and..

Key 30 is the right bracket and shows the amiga equivalent 1B being sent. The backslash, key 31, is shown pressed and released but no amiga equivalent sent. I see the backslash is in a table of keys, but I don't know the programming language to get any further.
