Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Internally, TUM-Live already has test courses, but they need to be created by the admins.
To allow lecturers to test their setup, a "Create Testcourse" feature would be nice to have. While working on this issue, I would also fix a current bug that shows courses on the start page.

Describe the solution you'd like
A button on the admin page that allows lecturers and admins to create a personal test course.

Why can't lecturers already create courses and use them for testing?

While lecturers can technically do this, I think that most either don't know how to create new courses or don't think that they are allowed to create new lectures for testing.
A personal test-course would:

  1. Allow lecturers to test their setup in advance without having to create a new hidden course/stream, but just by going to their personal test course (or by pressing "Create test course" if they have not created one yet) without having to worry about the visibility status of the course, name, semester, etc.
  2. Have a clear separation between real lectures and lectures created just for testing purposes
  3. Make it easier for lecturers (and admins) to create one test course once, which can always be used for testing (independently of the current semester) instead of possibly creating new test streams each semester to test their setup

E.g., see this example:
