I'd like to automate a script to run whenever Obsidian starts, to automatically switch between dark and light mode depending on the time of day.

The script itself seems to run, but the event Obsidian starts doesn't seem to do anything or work.

Any ideas?

The script itself seems to run, but the event Obsidian starts doesn't seem to do anything or work.

I think there's a small problem here:

if [[ {{event_type:category}} = "application-started" ]]; then

The variable {{event_type:category}} should be just {{event_type}}. If it has the word category, the variable would return the text "application" instead of "application-started" when the event Obsidian starts is triggered.

(Just for the record, here are all the possible values that {{event_type}}/{{event_type:category}} can return, although you seem to have found these already: https://publish.obsidian.md/shellcommands/Variables/%7B%7Bevent_type%7D%7D)

I'm not aware of a more direct way for this. At least the SC plugin does not offer a dedicated feature to call commands of other plugins.
