Sometimes when you select text the system doesn't recognized that there is a selection.
Steps:

Open a connection
Put in some text (3 lines)
Well below the last line and to the right move the mouse around while holding the left mouse button until it selects the last line.
When doing a smart copy it doesn't recognize there is a selection.
