The goal of this issue is to look at racial disparities in covid.

  1. Find percentage of demographic groups (like non-hispanic blacks) for a region that's x
  2. Find the background rate for that region thats y
  3. Calculate the disparity index log(x/y)
  4. Make a neat visualizations of this
  5. The visualization could address many different factors at once for example you could make an infographic that showed racial mix, age mix, urban rural? or whatever data you can get your hands on.
  6. or it could compare the disparities in different regions like states
Here is a data source for NYC
