Calendar events are fetched correctly when akonadi-decsync-resource is first added to Akonadi, but subsequent updates (e.g. via F5 in Akonadi Console or Kontact) don't seem to have an effect and don't update calendar events to their latest versions in DecSync. Maybe we need to implement Akonadi::ResourceBase::retrieveItems(const Akonadi::Item::List &items, const QSet<QByteArray> &parts).
