The readings for the Wednesday, October 3 lecture on Git and GitHub include CS2014, which is the following reference.

Chacon, Scott and Ben Straub, Pro Git: Everything You Need to Know about Git, 2nd Edition, Apress, 2014.

Unlike other readings that I will assign, you do not need to read this reference. It is a manual for using Git and GitHub. It is simply a great reference that I want you to be aware of and that you might want to use for your assignment. It is also nice because there is a free version of the book online (link here].
