TODO: package vignette on working with GDAL Virtual File Systems

A vignette for GDAL Virtual File Systems could provide example code as templates for several use cases and scenarios. It should cover:

• basic idea and overview
• /vsi*/ for datasets and input to processing functions
• /vsicurl/ and related cloud vsi for raster display. 3-4 useful examples with variations, e.g., virtual mosaic of .tif, COG, map server, etc.
• operations on SOZip and use case
• dataset and file management, e.g., https://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/475708/create-copies-of-rasters-in-r-via-gdal

Also, the VSI wrapper functions abstract file system operations for URL, cloud, SOZip/GZip/7z/RAR, and memory. These are general and broadly applicable. 1-2 examples using URL/cloud storage systems and possibly in-memory files.
