I'm an R developer - I'm interested in looking at this data for Portland, Oregon from R. I'm retired - I have a bunch of free time and can help with the documentation.

The API provides a quasi tagging system -- the projects. Internally we group nodes (and their observations) together by deployment areas, and more often than not those are named for regions.

If you hit the /projects endpoint you'll see that Portland has its own tag portland, which you can then use as a filter when requesting nodes or observations: project=portland.
