Compatibility Report

  • Name of the game with compatibility issues: Million Arthur: Arcana Blood
  • Steam AppID of the game: 989550

System Information

  • GPU: EVGA NVIDIA 2600 Super
  • Driver/LLVM version: nvidia 465.31
  • Kernel version: 5.11.22-180.current
  • System Information Report: Gist
  • Proton version: Proton Experimental as of 5/24/21, game does not function in any playable state on any other official version of Proton.

I confirm:

  • that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
  • that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.

CRASH REPORT: steam-989550.zip

Symptoms

As said above, the current (5/24/21) version of Proton Experimental is the only version where most of the game is playable. Any other official version of Proton has extremely heavy visual artifacts. Whatever you are experimenting with, it's working!

So far I have 2 errors- 1 minor and 1 major.

  • First, the minor error:

Any time you go to the main menu, you are greeted with the following error message:

error

This does not appear to impede the functioning of the game other than having to dismiss the error message

  • And now, the more major error:

The game is pretty much entirely playable via Proton Experimental, save for the fact that upon choosing the character "Void Eternal Flame" the game crashes. It allows you to choose the character, goes to the next screen where it allows you to choose their knight assists, then allows you to pick the stage. Upon selecting the stage, however, it changes to the versus screen and then immediately freezes and crashes.

Reproduction

Reproduction of these errors is very easy as described above, but for simplicity's sake:

  1. Run the game with Proton Experimental (5/24/21) (The only official version which provides us with a game taht could be called "playable")
  2. Once you get past the "press start" screen, the error in the picture described as the "minor error" will occur.
  3. Go to any mode and select "Void Eternal Flame" as your character. Attempt to start the match and the game will crash.

Hello @elementalmotherboard, please add PROTON_LOG=1 %command% to the game's launch options, reproduce the game crash, and attach the generated $HOME/steam-$APPID.log to this issue report as a file. (Proton logs compress well if needed.)

Update to status: game is currently playable (Proton 7.0 & 8.0) but there is test pattern during opening. (Media tracking issue: #1464)
