There are many Half-Life speedrunning and capturing tools running on Linux that depends on dynamic symbols for ease of development. Recent HL25 update has ousted it. Though debuginfo is still intact but dynamic symbol makes things much easier.

Some example projects are HLAE and bxt-rs. Both for capturing and speedrunning.
