From Lea

How to suppress the individual SGE regions in favor of the full data set when someone comes to look for data for that gene? IMO, the sub-regions should be someone harder to find. They only use case I could imagine is a reanalysis, and I would suspect that would be pretty rare.

From Alan

Suppressing the individual datasets in favor of a meta-analysis score set in general is probably a reasonable idea that we should think about enabling more generally (not just SGE). Maybe a "prefer meta-analysis" kind of checkbox that changes what search returns?

We could add a notion of a preferred_score_set. One preferred_score_set per experiment, on by default in search, and only show the preferred score set belonging to each experiment. Or perhaps a preferred_resource on an experiment set basis. Anyway, this could be a setting so that we can tune it post-implementation.

This would hopefully steer users towards the score set with the most relevant data for a dataset.

This has implications for how we show results in the search page.
