Describe the feature

There can be an option for servers. If a server has it on, all clients connecting to it will download and cache books from the server-side directory. This only applies to servers that have been in the server list. book.jsons are processed before registering, and contents are processed on joining the server.

we are moving to fully resource pack based books which will then allow you to use server resource packs (the vanilla feature) to do that

I see. Does current version for 1.20.1 support resource pack based books now?

yes but I think it does not work with server resource packs yet

So what about datapacks? Will it be possible to use datapacks on server to define book.json and use resource packs for content?
