Works like a portable CAD except that you can't edit anything.
Might want to use the map render for this. (Get inspired by this)

Maybe render finished PCB like a map?

Since I store them in the form of floppy disks (was a bad move maybe... Should have picked a more modern format), I need some sort of device to display them. My idea was that you would use some sort of handheld device that renders a list of blueprints you have inside your inventory, and scrolling would select one for display. You could then place said device inside of an item frame (I have to check if there is an easy way to do that)

A more high-tech "floppy"? With an LCD, internal storage for disk images and FDD-compatible external interface?

Edit: Overall, I think floppies fit well enough. Not a paper blueprint after all!
BTW: judging by how they are used, these floppies are rather tapes. They are read / written as a whole only.

Well... I think a viewer would be good. I don't like the idea of a "high tech floppy"

It was more of a joke really, although still a solution.

On topic: if / when MinecraftForge/MinecraftForge#2041 gets into upstream, it would be possible to display IC thumbnail in floppy's tooltip! Of course only when player carries that portable viewer.

Decided to do this by letting you print out the blueprints with an actual printer, you'll be able to pin it on walls. I might still do said portable viewing device so that you have an easy way to look at the blueprints when carrying them around, will see.
