I have tried to get the item count out of several Mekanism and EnderIO machines without luck.
I don't know if it's because the respective mod programmers are afraid to expose some kind of output inventory on input slots, or if SFM gives up too early in the process, but anyway it's pretty annoying.
It would be so delightful if there was a way to classify a machine using an item in one of the input slots, like the "Infuse" slot in Mekanism's Metallurgic Infuser.
Not to talk about the Alloy smelters in EnderIO, witch is a complete nightmare to work with.
An alternative would be to add some kind of type variable (or property), that you could assign to an inventory, allowing you to distinguish between machines when using variables.
