i noticed this behavior with the volume slider popover going back over a year but never minded it much. but now I've just enabled the menu widget and now it seems more like a bug.

i usually have the screen covered with various windows so when i activate the menu with the super key it immediately disappears if i move the mouse. if there are no open windows on the desktop it will not disappear. Took me a while to figure it out why on a new install it didnt disappear. well it was because i didnt have a chance to set up my config to autostart any apps......so blank desktop.

i imagine it is related to focus stealing since i am using the follow-focus plugin. If I disable the follow-focus plugin the menu does not disappear.

im on latest master branch for both wayfire and wf-shell .

i was curious if the same thing happens in xfce. it kind of does. the menu window will disappear if the cursor is moved from its current position to a new window. in wayfire it disappears if the cursor is moved 2mm within the same window.

i would take the xfce behavior. i just dont want the menu to disappear immediately when i remove my hand from the mouse which ends up moving the cursor slightly.
