Advanced Search Page issues

• I am not sure when the Advanced Search works. Does work when the Ligand Name search field is completed, but does not if only metal charge is filled, but does if both metal and metal charge are filled. (Please check the coding).

• Navigation - Can’t get back to Advanced Search with out going back to Search and forward to Advanced Search again.

• “Advanced Search Tips” need revision for clarity and utility.

• “Categories”

  • Should be a dropdown list (it is unlikely anyone knows what these were/are)
  • Nate needs to make sure that these are the same as the old categories (otherwise, we may remove them or at least the search option)

• “Ligands”

  • Should be “Ligand Name”
  • Needs guidance in bar “Search ligand names or name parts (acid form, case insensitive)”

• Chemicals?

  • I am not sure what this means. (This is not a helpful category - all things are chemicals except light, subatomic particles and vacuum!)

• “Metals”

  • It should be “Metal Symbol”
  • should be a drop down menu listed alphabetically. Autocomplete and narrow list with entry?
  • Needs guidance in bar “Search metal symbol (e.g. Co)”

• Metal Charge

  • I am not sure the entries are formatted properly here, please let me know what values it needs. Typical formatting would be +2 or -2 or 2+ or 2- depending on context (not provided).
  • Needs formatting guidance in bar “Search metal charge (e.g. ??)”

• Ligand Charge

  • Strange place for this box (next to metals) would go above with Ligand Name?
  • Needs formatting guidance and an example. I am not sure the entries are formatted properly here, please let me know what values it needs. Typical formatting would be +2 or -2 or 2+ or 2- depending on context (not provided).

• New order of search options

  • “Ligand Names”
  • Ligand Charge
  • “Ligand Category”
  • Metal Symbol
  • Metal Charge

• Other search parameters?

  • How are we doing on SMILES or other identifiers?
  • Structure search???? (probably not easy to add)
