As noted in #9, there are 2 folders added to the build which are not present in SDL's Makefile.minimal:

SDL_SRCS += $(wildcard $(SDL_DIR)/src/libm/*.c)
SDL_SRCS += $(wildcard $(SDL_DIR)/src/atomic/*.c)

We should review wether these are still necessary and document why.
