Appears to be a new bug introduced in 2.9?

When selecting a single feed, or a folder with several feeds (bulk view) all feeds (either a single, or several) appears to start an automatic update including ones that are configured to not update at all.

View type doesn't appear to affect the forced update

Replicate the issue (the feed url is no longer valid - so should be ok for a test use case)

  1. Create a new feed for the following URL http://qdb.us/qdb.xml in a new folder
  2. Press cancel when prompted for authentication credentials
  3. Disable both automatic updates (set the frequency to 30 min) and to update at start
  4. Select the feed directly - you will be prompted for credentials and the updating feeds will be displayed in the bottom right corner
  5. Select the folder containing the feed - you will be prompted for credentials and the updating feeds will be displayed in the bottom right corner

Note: Update frequency does appear to being ignored correctly

not new behaviour. works the same in 2.2.1.

this is a feature that tries to reload empty feeds with errors on viewing.

but i guess it would be better if it didnt try to update when just viewing but should if manually updating or periodic update is on.
