Experiencing the same issue, performed a clean install both on the server and the client side and the issue was still present.

I propose to rename this issue "Mobile/Desktop app unable to login" as both seems to be impacted (not only on android thus).

Have you checked for closed issues like this one? https://github.com/YunoHost-Apps/nextcloud_ynh/issues/545

Ho, thank you, I didn’t check closed issue as I found this one still open.

After reading the whole thread 😮‍💨 (very very verbose). I found out that in my case (probably not yours, but just in case) I just had to add the following line in the /etc/ssowat/conf.json inside the nextcloud.api and nextcloud.main sections:

"use_remote_user_var_in_nginx_conf": false

It directly solves the app connection, without having to reload anything or switch to yunohost testing branch. The only culprit of this little hack is that (from my understanding) I’ll have to temporarily add again and again those lines each time the ssowat config will be overwritten. I might have added them into conf.json.persistent, but I prefer not polluting it with probably soon deprecated fixes.

Should we add a mention to REMOTE_USER in the NGINX conf file, to trigger YunoHost/yunohost@f258eab ?

I think it's fixed with the new Yunohost v12 User Portal and SSO.

Can anyone confirm ?
