When trying to connect it, it blew up. I did take into consideration it could happen, but it's still unclear what's the highest accepted EU voltage. It might be nice to have info in the JEI tab, or alternatively in IC2 Classic style have integration with the EU-Reader to show it like this:

Added tooltip (when IC2 Classic) and new slot for IC2 Transformer upgrade. 45a5d9a
Each new tier has x2 bigger production speed and energy consumption.
