There are a few niceties that Lightbus could help with with regards to Django:

  • Calling django.setup()
  • Setting/detecting DJANGO_SETTINGS_MODULE (consider deriving a default from manage.py)
  • Handling dead database connections (see example 6)

This would be a good use of the (as yet unimplemented) middleware system.
