AVI record crash

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Load ROM
2. Load movie
3. Try to record AVI

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Snes9X crashes

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.51 on Windows 8 64-bit

Please provide any additional information below.

After recording a huge 5GB+ file (the first 5 hours of a playthrough of Live a 
Live), the next time I started to record, it produced a 0 byte AVI and would 
crash the next time I would record
