How can I create a dropdown with the HTML details tag in the middle of a post?

I'm trying to create a dropdown, however, it doesn't seem to render.

Here is the text in my post

This is a piece of text.

<details>
  <summary>Click to expand</summary>
  This is the content that will be shown when the dropdown is expanded.
</details>

This is another piece of text.

What renders in HTML is (linebreak added for clarity)

<p>This is a piece of text</p>
<p>This is another piece of text</p>

It looks like this:

Workaround is to edit your config to allow unsafe HTML in posts.

Add this to your config.yml:

    renderer:
      unsafe: true
