@steveoh's comments below are the right direction. Additionally:

  • Display the point for the entered coordinates and do the verification on the coordinate entry page (i.e. before clicking Next to go to the calc'd coords)
    • Maybe one more numbered step for "Verification"
  • The verified point should persist on the map through the rest of the submission process
    • make the entered point easily identifiable, and contrast the PLSS points

I have a couple ideas.

  1. Make an "accept point location check box" or something and before or after they click next to calculate the other coordinates they have to check the box. We can zoom them to the point and they accept it or edit their values to help them know where their point is? Does that simplify the process and remove the need for more tools?
  2. Display the distance from the blm point location after their coordinates are entered. If it's greater than a certain distance, we show some UI to make sure it is correct?
