Nixos installation

I see some instructions how to install on Nixos but both manual and using home-manager seem to be 'in development' AFAICT. What is the best way to install currently on Nixos and what features am I missing out on?

I think the description of the manual installation works. It says ToDo: Fix blesh-share, but I think it was related to the discussion about what blesh-share should print (e.g. in NixOS/nixpkgs#181963 (comment)), but it's already fixed.

On the other hand, I think the installation with Home Manager doesn't work now because it's not yet merged upstream (as it references nix-community/home-manager#3238).

You're right. Home-manager is a preferred way because blesh.sh stores configuration data in per-user basis, however, it is not merged yet because I have been extremely busy nowadays moving to a new residence.

In general ble.sh works as should, just one thing.
On opening a new shell I get:

ble.sh: XDG_RUNTIME_DIR='/run/user/501' is not a directory.
bleopt: option `keymap_vi_mode_string_nmap' not found
ble.sh: XDG_RUNTIME_DIR='/run/user/501' is not a directory.
bleopt: option `keymap_vi_mode_string_nmap' not found

before i get the normal prompt. BTW: No idea whether relevant, but I have xdg-utils installed and also direnv and nix-direnv.
I tried to set that normal mode indicator by having ~/.blerc with:

bleopt keymap_vi_mode_string_nmap=$'\e[1m-- NORMAL --\e[m'

It's not picked up as in normal mode I still get '~' instead of '-- NORMAL __'.

Oh..., after sudo nixos-rebuild switch the ble.sh: XDG_RUNTIME_DIR='/run/user/501' is not a directory. returns...

When adding the suggested lines to ~/.blerc I get:

Thanks! It means that ~/.bashrc is sourced in the same session (but not in a temporary session).

Hmm, ble-stackdump is not enabled. Could you try the following?
