Setup & Installation

alec-hs edited this page Jan 24, 2020 · 3 revisions

This page will guide you through the setup and installation of FAST and suggest best practices. To start with you will need to download the latest version from here.

Suggested File Structure

Below is a suggested file structure that could be anywhere in Windows - we use a Games and a Tools folder either on C:\ Drive or a separate drive if available.

     ↳Games

↳Arma 3 (Where Arma 3 will be installed)

     ↳Tools

↳FAST2 (Where FAST2 will be installed)

↳SteamCMD (Where Steam will be installed)

New Install/ Moving From FAST 1.x

Currently there is no way to migrate from FAST 1.x to 2.x as it uses different config setups. You will have to re-import mods and setup server profiles manually.

You will need a Steam API Key for FAST to work - you can set one up here. You can enter anything in the domain field if you do not own your own domain.

  1. Download the file from above.
  2. Unzip the contents into the folder where you want FAST installed.
  3. Run FAST2.exe
  4. Fill in the setup form with the correct details.
  5. Make sure to tick Install SteamCMD if it is not already installed.

FAST will now be setup and ready to use.

Updating From FAST 2.x

FAST 2 has auto update built in. If a new version has been released simply open FAST and it will grab the latest update and your settings should persist. If you have any issues come and report them on the Discord.
