Hi
I've just installed Hugo from brew, populated hugo-book theme using git submodule, copied sample page and ... don't see many elements:

  • columns (text for each is after previous)
  • details (only text)
  • hints (pure text, no colors and attributes)
  • mermaids (no drawing)
  • tabs (nothing presented)
  • katex (nothing visible).

Installation details:

  • Platform: MacOS Sonoma 18
  • Hugo: hugo v0.136.3+extended darwin/arm64 BuildDate=2024-10-21T13:31:54Z VendorInfo=brew
  • Browsers: Safari,Firefox 131.0.3

I use hugo in server mode:
hugo server --buildDrafts

Hi!
I would guess there is an issue loading CSS styles, do you have errors in your browser console? Or maybe you can provide a link to source/site

Hi !
I've put site prepared on MacOs to OpenBSD host - the effect is the same.
Please see:
https://obsidian.vctl.net/hugo/
I have built it with hugo using hugo -b https://obsiodian.vctl.net/hugo build
and transferred using scp.
I don't see any errors or warnings in browserr's developers tools.

Same situation here - fresh install with similar specs and do not see columns etc.

Had the same problems. Adding

[markup]
  [markup.goldmark]
    [markup.goldmark.renderer]
      unsafe = true

into hugo.toml helps. See: https://gohugo.io/methods/shortcode/inner/#use-alternate-notation
