Use the standard path for configuration file

User configuration files are usually stored in the $HOME/.config folder instead of $HOME.

The standard procedure can be found here: http://standards.freedesktop.org/basedir-spec/latest/ar01s03.html

Basically, you have to use the folder specified in the environment var $XDG_CONFIG_HOME. In the case that it is not set or it is empty, the $HOME/.config folder is used.
