Can't get it to work on index with kirschbaum-development/nova-inline-select

Not sure if there's something special one needs to do to get this to work with custom fields. This package https://github.com/kirschbaum-development/nova-inline-select provides the ability to modify a value right from the index page using a dropdown. If I use the DependencyContainer on it, it will work on the detail page but on the index page the dropdown just does not render and there are no errors in the console.
