We should use /opt since it is the best purpose noted here.
This directory is reserved for all the software and add-on packages that are not part of the default installation. For example, StarOffice, Kylix, Netscape Communicator and WordPerfect packages are normally found here.
Maybe /opt/docker is not the best choice in case docker decides to use it anytime further.

Right now /data isn't FHS compliant. Maybe /opt/docker or /srv/docker would be better defaults. What do you think @acien101, @d3vv3?
