I believe a complete windows for Google Keep without tray icon is not a good idea.

The project Rambox can do this and much more.

Keep is not available by default in Rambox, I had to add it manually
https://github.com/saenzramiro/rambox/issues/1481

If this were a native app like Nixnote that would be have been another thing.

I hope you don't Close this issue cos it will help others find a better alternative.

I however am not against this project. It's a good POC.

Rambox is a wrapper that opens multiple webapps. Not unlike, say, having firefox open.

Nixnote has a... pretty ugly UI, and won't surface any google related features, and is not available for mac.

If you want Google Keep, just Google Keep, and don't want Chrome, this is what you want.

@pigsflew

Both Rambox is exactly the same as this project and it can do much more. Why would you want an Electron app which is just a Chrome with ability to open only Keep as a Window with the WebGUI.

This is a web-browser in the background just like Rambox, but with ability to run only Keep and no ability to Minimize to tray. Unless

Even if you run only Keep on Rambox, you still have the extra ability of minimizing to tray.

Most people would want to run other services like Gmail, Slack, Keep etc in a single window with the option to minimize to tray.
I do it cos I don't want to have Google account tracking me across all domains with third party cookies in my main browser.
Others may do it cos they want all the services in one place and not have to open the services they use everyday in the browser by manually entering the address.

@Logmytech thanks, minimize to tray it's a good idea.

But I can not agree with the rest. I wrote this app because I need only this one google service. Gmail i use in macOS mail app, google drive with native app. So I don't need app that supports all google services.

I'm going to add tray support soon

@Logmytech how is this an issue - @andrepolischuk can you close it, its some person whining about how this app isn't for them; how is that helpful or a bug or issue. If you don't like the application don't use it; and don't try and tell people there is a better alternative when there isn't - Rambox sucks and is lazy - I don't want an application that does everything - I want an application that handles Google Keep not a swiss army knife that is probably super difficult to debug when there is an issue, like systemd; but thats for a different thread.

I'm all for a Tray Icon but that would be great.

@thomascrha I guess I was trying to add a feature request for tray icon and started writing about Rambox.

I just finished implementing the requested tray support (and some relevant window management) on my own branch.
All the changes are available in PR #54.
