California's SB 27 / Shine the Light Law requires a statement about opting out of third party marketing info sharing. But the statement causes a bit of a dilemma, in that it implies that you do share data with third parties. See this paragraph:

Your California Privacy Rights

California law permits residents of California to request certain details about how their information is shared with third parties for direct marketing purposes. However, under the law, a business is not required to provide this information if it permits California residents to opt in to, or opt out of, this type of sharing. App.net qualifies for this alternative option. To opt out of having your information shared with third parties for direct marketing purposes, please send us an email at [email protected]. If you are a California resident and would like to make such a request, please contact us at the address below.

Please consider changing it to:

App.net does not share users' information with third parties for their marketing purposes. Despite the fact that we do not share your information for these purposes, California law requires us to offer you the ability to opt out of this type of sharing. To make an opt out request please send us an email at [email protected]. If you are a California resident and would like to make such a request, please contact us at the address below.
