I use librarian-puppet to manage my puppet modules. After upgrading Git to the latest version (2.14.0), librarian-puppet install fails because git version --silent is no longer valid as of 2.14.0.

The output of git version --silent is no different from that of git version, indicating the --silent has been having no effect for some time.
