Did you know that you can use a layout in a layout.
That means you can define DOCTYPE and head tag usage once in default.html and then your page.html and project.html and home.html layouts can all using the default.html layout or each other.
For interest, note that minima has a gemspec file so you can use it in another project by configuring it as a theme without forking the entire minima theme.
