Corrupted badges on 3DS

I was downloading my own badges made on Themeplaza, and I downloaded a set of them that I had already manually installed on another 3DS, hit "install badges" and it gave me an "exception occurred" crash screen. When I rebooted the device, all of my badges on my home screen had disappeared, and if you opened the badge menu, it would just close itself a moment later and most of my badges were missing in the menu.

Again, I made this myself and I manually uploaded it to another 3DS and it worked fine.

I expected the badges to be installed normally and that when I would go to the home screen and open the badge menu, my badges and the new badges would be there.

Unfortunately I forgot to save the crash dump, so I cannot upload that.

I am using a new 3DS XL, and the other 3DS that worked was an old 3DS XL.
