'C-f' doesn't work as 'forward-char' for input mode (emacs key layout) #3616

  • go into input mode by activating any input box on any web site (example, search engine input box)
  • type just about anything and then press C-f to move your point one character forward within your text
  • instead of moving it one char at a time, the browser runs command 'history-forwards-maybe-query'

is there a way to completely remove 'history-forwards-maybe-query' keybinding in my local config?

shouldn't be both C-f and C-b reserved for basic caret movement within the text?
https://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/manual/html_node/emacs/Moving-Point.html

right now they are reserved for
'history-forwards-maybe-query'
and
'history-backwards'
