Development

  1. Community - Develop a practitioner's community (Program coordinators/administrators, NGO IT staff, Software providers involved, Open source product makers)
  2. Market - Awareness in the market about the problem and the product.

Marketing Channels

  1. Facebook
  2. LinkedIn
  3. Conference attendance and presentation

Community Development

  1. Existing communities, side event (MFC, JSA)
  2. Name of the community (Technology and Data Practitioners in NGO Ecosystem)

Case studies can perform the following functions:

  • Explain how Avni is beneficial. Essentially raise awareness in the market about the problem-solution fit.
  • Give a flavour of the variety of use cases which Avni can fit.
  • It can have a technical section that explains how Avni has fit the use case.
  • Provide some numbers that can share some light on all aspects of the program

Candidates for case studies

  • LBP
  • Sewa Rural (need more input)
  • Calcutta Kids
  • Sickle Cell Screening (need input, interview with customer)
  • JSS Phulwari (insight on outcomes and adherence to process)
  • IHMP (up to the rollout; next one bit later; what relevant complexity is added by government setup)
  • DDM
  • Preconception (need input)
  • Chetna (use of content by them)
  • Kalap (?)

Themes

  • Awareness about what Avni does. Fieldwork and its codification using Avni.
  • Case studies
  • Data collection tools and comparison
  • About Avni, history, partners, opensource journey

Usage
-> Case studies (case studies provide an opportunity to create a constant flow of content)
-> Where Avni is getting used now (summary)

Whole Product (based on stories) - after a few case studies
-> Statistical tools
-> Google handwriting tool, App lock

Software architecture and technology
-> Use of programmable hooks for creating a flexible platform, using JavaScript for hooks - instead of depending on data
-> Multi-tenancy using PostgreSQL (hierarchical structure, row-level access by user)
-> Reporting (tradeoffs, state of tools, premium, embedding, drill down, not creating one's own product - mistake)
-> Sync (time delay, object relationships, void)
-> Exporting and importing

Open Source
-> Separation between Samanvay and Avni
-> Ability to copy implementations
