Functionality upstreaming request for multi-region agent config

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I've recently written a very basic change to allow the logging and metrics functionality to use different regions instead of the global one pulled from the agent config or default itself. This was for the internal usage purposes of my employer, but it occurs to me a more fleshed out and generalised approach supporting all the config sections would be useful to upstream.

Describe the solution you'd like
I'd be happy to work on this change and submit it for approval, but I wanted to check first if it's something that would be likely to be accepted by the project? This would be something I would work on in my own time and submit in a personal capacity. Equally though, I don't want to waste anyone's time if it isn't something that would be likely to be accepted. I look forward to a reply.
