MAIXPY

Compile

Install dependence

sudo apt install build-essential cmake

Compile MicroPython cross compiler

Build in root path of MaixPy

cd MaixPy
make -C mpy-cross

Get toolchain and Edit config.conf , set toolchain_path

  • Downlaod toolchain from kendryte (toolchain V8.2)

  • Decompress and copy to somewhere /opt/kendryte-toolchain for example , then set path and burn parameters

cd ports/k210-freertos
chmod +x build.sh
./build.sh

Then edit config.conf file:

toolchain_path=/opt/kendryte-toolchain
baud=2000000
device=/dev/ttyUSB0
Board=dan

Attention: The different board have different configuration as follows:

#### Dan dock Or Maix Bit
device=/dev/ttyUSB0
Board=dan

#### Maix Go with open-ec firmware
device=/dev/ttyUSB1
Board=goE

#### Maix Go with CMSIS-DAP firmware
device=/dev/ttyACM0
Board=goD

Initialize submodules

git submodule init
git submodule update --recursive

Config modules

Edit modules_confg.mk

Build

Build port

./build.sh

Then we can get bin file(s) in output folder

Burn(/Flash)

  1. Get Burn tool
./flash.sh install
  1. Change default settings

Edit config.conf

toolchain_path=/opt/kendryte-toolchain
baud=2000000
device=/dev/ttyUSB0
Board=dan

Attention: The different board have different configuration as follows:

#### Dan dock Or Maix Bit
device=/dev/ttyUSB0
Board=dan

#### Maix Go with open-ec firmware
device=/dev/ttyUSB1
Board=goE

#### Maix Go with CMSIS-DAP firmware
device=/dev/ttyACM0
Board=goD
  1. Burn/Flash to board
./flash.sh

If Flash fail, try again or Decrease baud rate

more parameters use

./flash.sh help

For contribute developer

Release

  • Must commit all changes and rebuild

  • Tests

  • Push to remote

  • Create a tag: tag name must start with v, e.g. v1.2.3, or we can not get version in MaixPy by command sys.implementation.version

git tag -a v0.1.1 -m "release 0.1.1 (beta) describe....."
git push origin --tags
  • Execute ./build.sh clean

  • Execute ./build.sh

  • Flash to board, type sys.implementation.version, the output should be like:

>>> sys.implementation.version
(0, 1, 1)
