Bibmix

A rails plugin that mixes/enhances given bibliographic information with aggregated data from external sources.

Requirements

Bibmix has some dependencies on gems:

  • httpclient
  • amatch
  • spreadsheet
  • faster_csv
  • hpricot

Installation

In order to install the required gems, enter:

$ sudo gem install httpclient amatch spreadsheet fastercsv hpricot

Then install FRIL, go to http://fril.sourceforge.net/download.html and download/install version 2.1.4 (I've not tested this with other versions). To make sure it works, try running fril.sh from the command line.

For Bibmix I had to add a few features to FRIL, in order to incorporate the features, two files have to be replaced. Execute the following commands to replace the files.

$ cp <BIBMIX FOLDER>/resources/join.jar <FRIL FOLDER>/jars/
$ cp <BIBMIX FOLDER>/resources/gui-components.config <FRIL FOLDER>/

Now you are ready to test Bibmix. CD into the Bibmix folder and execute:

$ rake test
