we know that a few dozen 52x52 binary PNGs are not the end of the world for a small repo, however, it'd be good to have a GitHub action where images/* are SVG(s) then it spits out the PNGs to S3 instead.

I'm not against it, but it's usually easier to find pngs than svgs for logos
I think this mainly affects more "niche" flairs. It was pretty easy for me to find SVGs, especially from Wikimedia (which is where I sourced most of the flairs I contributed). All I did was Google "<x> logo svg" and the first result 9/10 is from Wikimedia.
