Can't dismantle the test dummy

running minecraft 1.10.2, forge 12.18.3.2185.

What are you doing to remove it? You need to shift-leftclick with an empty hand

I did exactly that and it didn't work.
I have no idea why.

A million years later but I can confirm this issue. It's related to the side, I think. It removes for the client, but not for the server. Server says it's still there, and the server is always right.
