I've just been trying to install RainGauge on two servers running Ubuntu 14.04, with a database running under percona mysql 5.6.37. I experienced a number of issues, but I have apparently been able to fix or workaround all of them, so that RainGauge is now collecting data and uploading it successfully. I'm attaching an .md file based on README.md showing the changes which I had to make to the installation process - I hope this may be useful. (I had to append ".txt" to the filename to upload it via this interface.)
(One additional point: in the README.md file, I wasn't clear as to which steps were to be carried out on the web server, and which on the database server: it would be useful if this could be clarified.)
