The aim of this project is to implement a relatively simple physiological model of macro-scale neural dynamics generating EEG signals in tensorflow.

Objectives:

  • Implement (in python) the robinson thalamocortical neural field model (spectral-domain variant)
  • make jupyter notebook widgets for interactively exploring depandence of model outputs on parameter values
  • Implement model fitting & parameter estimation using tensorflow / scipy.optimize / scikit.optimize
  • Derive mathematically the equivalent analytic spectral form for an alternative model formulation (with wilson-cowan equations)

The github repository for this project is here. See here for some initial notes and code sketches.

We are looking for additional recruits with experience and/or interest in: python, tensorflow, neurophysiological modelling, and M/EEG data analysis.
