Description

brave/go-update#55

For OSes:

  • < Windows 7
  • < OS X El Capitan 10.11.0
  • < 64-bit Ubuntu 16.04+, Mint 17+, Debian 9+, openSUSE 15+, Fedora Linux 28+, or CentOS/RHEL 8+

We should no longer be providing component updates as these OSes are no longer supported.

Actual result:

Currently providing component updates for all versions.

Expected result:

Support component updates for only supported versions.

Reproduces how often:

Brave version (brave://version info)

Version/Channel Information:

  • Can you reproduce this issue with the current release? yes
  • Can you reproduce this issue with the beta channel? yes
  • Can you reproduce this issue with the nightly channel? yes

Other Additional Information:

  • Does the issue resolve itself when disabling Brave Shields? n/a
  • Does the issue resolve itself when disabling Brave Rewards? n/a
  • Is the issue reproducible on the latest version of Chrome? n/a

This would be interesting also to reduce the CDN traffic.
